but newt gingrich is competing very heavily here. it may not be like it was in 2008, when john mccain won all of that and then mike huckaby won the upstate. but the real places to watch are the third and fourth districts, screen greenville and york county, a suburban of charlotte, north carl. if mitt romney cannot repeat what john mccain did there in 2008, get about 24 or 25% of the vote, his road to victory here in south carolina is going to be difficult. another big question -- what about the military vote? in 2008, because of his record as a veteran, much of that military vote went to john mccain. but that military vote is being vied for by at least three and maybe all four candidates. ron paul appears to anti-war sentiments and among veterans, and there are 400,000 of those veterans here in south carolina. and newt gingrich and mitt romney both aggressively courting the military vote. so likely if that vote could split this year as opposed it going en masse one way. so those are all things that we're going to be watching for here
